Nets Preview Game 1

The Nets start the 2013-2014 season tonight in Cleveland versus the Cavaliers

For Net fans the wait is finally over we get to see Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce final play a game with Brooklyn across their chest! With Garnett the defense of the Nets will improve and the offense. New coach Jason Kidd is teaching a new offense that will bring lots of passing and will create ball movement like the Knicks had last year. For tonight the key is stopping Kyrie Irving he’s the only chance the Cavs have of staying in this game. The Nets should do what the Heat did last to Derrick Rose. Double team him on pick and rolls and force him to get rid of the ball. Brook Lopez should be getting the ball a lot tonight he has had good games vs the Cavs in his career including a 35 point game against them last year.  The Nets will be without Andrei Kirilenko whose battling back spasms.

For the Cavs they’ll be without Andrew Bynum and possibly Tyler Zeller. Anthony Bennett makes his NBA debut he was the first overall pick in the draft. If the Cavs want to win this game they need Anderson Varejo to shutdown Brook Lopez and as a team they need to take away the three point line from the Nets.
